Every year, many students come to learn French at LSF. Some of them go back to their country but some others decide to settle in Montpellier and live here. In this series of mini-portraits we will introduce you to our students! They come from all over the world, they have different projects but for all of them, their French studies at LSF have opened many doors! We start today with Sheryl!
Hello ! Who are you?
Hello ! My name is Sheryl and I am Canadian. I moved to Montpellier in April 2019. I came to Montpellier in order to live with my partner.
How did you hear about LSF?
At first, my only goal was to learn French, and then to find a job in a clothing shop. I found the LSF school by searching on the internet and after visiting their beautiful premises, the choice was quickly made.
If you had to sum up your experience at LSF, what would you say?
My time at LSF was unforgettable. I have met people from all over the world and made incredible friends. On top of this, the staff are very welcoming and really go above and beyond for their students. I spent most of my time in face-to-face classes and only started using the online courses after the first lockdown. Both were extremely helpful in my learning experience.
Now what?! What are you doing?
After this last year, I finally decided to open my own vintage shop, which has been a dream for many years. The shop takes its name from one of the most frequented French places, and which I believe represents one of the many treasures of Montpellier life. My shop Terrasse is a selection of vintage and second-hand pieces that reflect the current trends. If you are studying/visiting Montpellier, it will be a pleasure to meet you and share my love for style and vintage.
Where is your shop located?
The shop is located at 5bis Rue Chrestien! It is right next to the rue de l’Université, a very famous street in the city centre of Montpellier. I welcome you from Tuesday to Sunday! To know more about it, don’t hesitate to check my instagram account: @_terrasse
